Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has introduced a new food safety management system, named ‘Salamt Sadna’ (safety of our food), Gulf News has reported. The new system covers about 2,500 small food businesses in the emirate which cater to more than 250,000 customers daily, who mostly belong to the low- and lower-middle income groups. It is also part of implementing the International Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards, which were made mandatory for four- and five-star hotels since 2001 and catering businesses since 2010, said the regulator.
