Al Sharq Hospital inaugurates largest Mother & Child Care Center in the East Coast of UAE
With its Vision to elevate mother and child healthcare services; Al Sharq Hospital, a member of Al Sharq Healthcare Group and a part of Fujairah National Group (FNG), opened today the largest specialized mother and child care center in the United Arab Emirates’ East Coast region.
The Inaugural Ceremony was officiated by Sheikh Sultan Bin Saleh Al Sharqi, Deputy Chairman of the Fujairah National Group, HE Mohammed Abdullah Al Hamoudi, Director of Fujairah Medical District, HE Obaid Khamis Al Khadim, Director of Fujairah Hospital, Mr. Ahmed Nasser, CEO of Al Sharq Healthcare, Mr. Ahmed Al Hafeiti, Deputy CEO of Al Sharq Healthcare, Mr. Wagdi Zayed, Deputy CEO of Al Sharq Healthcare, Dr. Abdul Hamid Sinan, General Manager of Al Sharq Hospital, a number of other dignitaries and specialist Gynecologists in the East Coast.
Equipped with the latest and with state of the art medical equipment’s, the center is prepared to provide round the clock medical attention by a group of consultants and specialist doctors, monitoring of unborn fetuses with full privacy and will offer world-class medical services in the areas of child birth, pregnant related emergency and other preventive and general services.
Dr. Abdul Hamid Sinan, GM of Al Sharq Hospital said: “The opening of the mother and the child care center is part of our unwavering commitment and persistent pursuit to provide high-quality medical services. The center is launched at a time when the number of childbirths is rising. It’s supplied with the latest advanced medical technology, equipment’s and well-qualified and trained medical staff including doctors and nurses to provide comprehensive health care for pregnant women. The center ensures complete privacy and total comfort for pregnant women and their loved family members.
In addition, the center is providing special awareness programs for pregnant women and mothers educating the best ways and practice to provide superior care during pregnancy, how to take care of unborn babies as well as postnatal care including, nutrition, breastfeeding, physiotherapy and breathing exercises.
Dr. Basma Jaber, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Al Sharq Hospital mentioned that the center is equipped to receive all cases from the early stages of pregnancy until the final months of it. The clinic, she added, is outfitted with modern equipment’s to manage all cases, including high-risk ones and seeks to provide top services to pregnant women in the East Coast before and after childbirth.
Noteworthy, as a new hospital around 9,400 patients visited obstetrics and gynecology department at Al Sharq Hospital since the start of this year as compared to 5,375 patients in 2013, up by 75 percent. The number of overnight patients overwhelmingly incread by almost 200 percent to 532 cases in 2014 from 175 cases in 2013. deliveries cases soared by 196 percent this year to more than 380 cases as compared to 128 deliveries in 2013.
