American University of Ras Al Khaimah hosts graduation of second batch of Emiratis jobseekers

In continuation of support to the “Absher” initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to induct unemployed Emiratis in to the labor market, the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) hosted the graduation of second batch of job-seekers in association with the Human Resources Department of Ras Al Khaimah.

Prof. Dr.Hassan Hamdan Alalkim, President of the university, presented certificates to more than 200graduateswhohave completed their training courses in Accounting and Procurement, Customer Service, Human Resourcesand library science, in the presence of Mohammed Al Hammadi, vice president for saqer program and Hisham Mezghani,Director of Center for Continuing Education at the University,in the presence of faculty members andalumni.

In his welcome address, Prof. Alalkim said, “The American University of Ras Al Khaimah is strongly supports the drive tocreate job opportunities to Emiratis and is engaged in providing career-oriented training programs,in association with the Human Resources Department of RAK, so that the trained Emiratis could enter the labor market.

“We select the candidates from the database of the HR Department of RAK, and then the Center for Continuing Education of the University designs customized courses that would enable these graduates to find employments inpublic and private sector companies.”

Last year,the university held a test to determine the skill levels of several jobless Emiratis who wished to enrollin programs in English language and Information Technology, based on a plan developed by the Department of Human Resources and the University, which then proceeded to provide training sessions for these job seekers who could not enter the labor market because they did not have the required skills and qualification.
