Arabian Oud Company, the world’s largest specialized oriental perfume retailer and the foremost luxury fragrance house in the Middle East, announced its expansion plans for the United Kingdom during an event held at London’s 10 Downing Street – one of the most prestigious addresses in the world. The company will be strengthening its UK presence in response to the country’s increasing demand for its products and in light of its success in promoting Arabic culture to the British.

The announcement was made during Arabian Oud’s participation at an event held at 10 Downing Street, the location of the second most important palace after Buckingham Royal Palace, British Prime Minister residence. Arabian Oud has played an important role in putting Arabic culture under the spot light and promoting it through the company’s fragrances at this very building which dates back to 1600’s when the British Empire ruled the world.

The event attracted wide participation from decision makers, business men and statesmen including American civil rights leader Jesse Jackson, Indian Cinema legend Amitabh Bachchan, and Keith Vaz, the longest-serving Asian MP and Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee, representing the government.

A company spokesperson said: “This is not the first time that Arabian Oud has participated in such a prestigious event since its establishment in 2002. The company has repeatedly drawn the attention of statesmen and parliamentary leaders through its inclusion in several of parliament’s special events and occasions. Arabian Oud has played a huge role in highlighting the beauty of Arabic perfumes and oud, which has in turn changed the dynamics of the local fragrance market which has come to appreciate the charm of the oriental world.”

“Our branch in the UK and its exhibitions has become popular among fans of our type of perfumes. Arabian Oud has successfully promoted the Arabic perfume culture globally and has influenced the global taste for fragrances. Through the company’s influence, many fragrance houses around the world now also offer Arabic perfume components such as oud, musk and sandalwood – a trend that has become particularly noticeable in the premium perfume segment. Arabian Oud has left a significant impact on the perfume market as it attracted many investors and helped build bridges between the East and West,” the source added.

Member of Parliament Keith Vaz emphasized how Arabian Oud has helped open up many job opportunities in the UK as part of its commitment to British society and its expansion plans for the country. He also affirmed the company’s approach to present a leading mix between Arabic and European cultures in its products that is considered as a first of its kind in London.

Arabian Oud’s achievements in Europe and Britain have sped up its expansion plans especially after the success it achieved after the opening of its WestField showroom in Stratford – East London during 2010. The company plans to open a third branch in the West London market, which ranked second in Europe WestField – London. The branch will be opened in late spring 2014.

Arabian Oud is the largest company specializing in oud and oriental perfumes in the world, drawing on its own private sources of raw materials for its products. It manages an extensive network throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, the Middle East and Europe. The company is currently regarded as the number one brand in the Middle East and Africa and 11th globally in producing the finest luxury perfumes based on a recent global study highlighting the value of perfume sales in 2012.
