Austrian Ambassador in Tehran Friedrich Stift expressed his country’s readiness to set up a car-manufacturing plant and assembly lines in Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz. “We have had talks with auto parts manufacturers on launching complete production lines to manufacture cars in Tabriz,” Stift was quoted as saying by Fars News Agency on Tuesday. He stated that Austria is ready to cooperate with Iranian companies in various areas of trade and industries in the province of East Azarbaijan. “There seems to be favorable capacities for mutual cooperation in different sectors, especially in the mining sector in this province,” he said. Several European countries, notably France, are jockeying for position in the Iranian market, should full sanctions against the country eventually be dropped.
