Bank Sohar holds seminar on retail products at Salalah

The Retail Banking Division of Bank Sohar offers an extensive range of products and services many of which are unique and unparalleled in the Omani market. In order to provide an insight of the retail offerings and to highlight key features of its numerous retail products, Bank Sohar conducted a special seminar in Salalah for its Corporates, Govt. & PSUs, HNIs and VIP customers, entitled as ‘Retail Business Opportunities’.

The Seminar took place at the Hilton Hotel Salalah recently and was attended by over 100 participants. The meeting was inaugurated by Mr. R. Narasimhan, DGM & Head Retail Banking who gave an overview of the Bank’s overall growth in the Retail business across the Sultanate as well as tremendous progress made in Dhofar region. The main Retail Salalah branch will be relocated to new premises with better amenities like more spacious customer business area, better parking facilities and with good access to the clients being positioned in the prestigious 18th July Street. The Salalah Branch Head, Mr. Amur Al Amri welcomed the invitees by giving an overview of the agenda and purpose of the gathering.

After the inauguration address, Mr. R. Narasimhan invited one of the senior clients from Salalah, Mr. Ram Santhanam who is the Chief Finance Officer of Salalah Trade Zone to share his Bank Sohar experience with the audience. Mr. Ram Santhanam appreciated the excellent service provided by our Salalah Branch since inception. The inputs from Mr. Ram Santhanam were very much appreciated on the need for competitiveness in products, pricing and delivery in the current market scenario to stay ahead.

The seminar agenda included a presentation by the Retail Banking product Head, Sr. AGM, Mr. Nandakumar and Mr. Sandeep Soni, Head Retail Sales & Distribution which covered Non Resident and expat banking including all other Retail products as well as the technological capabilities of the Bank in extending customized solutions. There was a presentation by Mr. Redha Al Lawatia, Chief Manager-Retail Liabilities on the Savings and Deposit products and on the prestigious prize draw scheme by the Bank including the unique hourly prize draws which is a runaway success in this market.

We included an exclusive presentation for the top end customers for alternate investment products such as mutual funds which was presented by AGM – Investment & Correspondent Banking, Mr. Mohammed Own Dohadwala and Sr. Manager – Investment, Mr. Ibrahim Moosa Ibrahim. After the useful presentation from the Bank, there was a very lively interaction session with the clients who very much appreciated the Bank’s efforts in updating the valuable Retail product knowledge to them.

Commenting on the seminar, Mr. R. Narasimhan said, “We take pride in providing customized products and services to meet the various needs of our valued customers. This was the first time we have conducted a seminar of this kind for such a varied audience where Bank has a repository of product offerings suiting the need of each segments.” In addition to highlighting key features of Bank Sohar’s Retail products, the seminar also offered participants a better understanding of the bank’s approach to NR and expat banking. “The seminar was a definite success as reflected in the attendance of key players in large numbers and active participation by the invitees. Following its success, we are planning to organize such seminars in other major cities as well as large establishments later in the year,” added Mr. R. Narasimhan.
