Bahrain Polytechnic BICT & Web Media Industry Forum took place at the Ramee Grand, bringing together industry partners, Polytechnic graduates and Faculty members in a forum to witness the graduates’ success stories.

ICT students and graduates shared their Polytechnic experiences with the audience, as more than 80 participants attended the occasion; some which graduates invited from their currently employed company to listen to their stories whilst at the Polytechnic.

Aside from the satisfaction of choosing their majors, one thing which certainly stood out to the audience was listening to the unique teaching strategies of Bahrain Polytechnic from the students’ perspective, hailing practical learning as the source of their success. One success story talks about a graduate which took part in developing a smartphone application for Bahrain Airport Company displaying information about Bahrain, popular places to visit and travel logistics.

The event brought over many delegates from key companies in various industries, such as telecommunications, financial institutions, governmental entities and many others, some whom expressed their experiences when placing the Polytechnic students throughout their internship courses and offering them jobs as they proved their high level employability and technical skills.

Dr. Mohamed Al-Aseeri, Acting CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, reiterated the government educational institutions’ aim is to graduate students with corporate experience, believing that the youth of the Kingdom will lay the foundations of Bahrain’s 2030 Vision.

“As per our mission and goals, we want our students to graduate while meeting the all the employability skills that industries are looking for currently,” explained Dr. Al-Aseeri. “This forum was organized to show companies what we do [at the Polytechnic], all in the students’ point of view. I would like to thank the companies which attended the forum, as well as thank the Polytechnic staff for putting in their efforts to organize the successful event. I’d also want to thank the students for taking their time to present their success to the audience, as they certainly deserve praise for their work,” concluded the Acting CEO.
