Cambridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center welcomes group COO & Chief Medical Officer
Cambridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center has appointed Dr. Howard Podolsky as Group Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Officer.
Cambridge has recently opened its first facility in Abu Dhabi (with a second planned to open later in the year in Al Ain) offering specialized, dedicated medical care and rehabilitation services to patients requiring short-term comprehensive rehabilitation, and long-term care for patients with chronic illness or injury.
Cambridge is affiliated with US-based Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, a Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital and Joslin Diabetes Center, the world’s leading diabetes research, clinical care and education organization.
Dr. Podolsky, an internal medicine physician and healthcare attorney, previously worked with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, SEHA, in several positions including Group Chief of Staff, Group Operations Director, and Chief Medical Officer for Al Ain Hospital. He has also has served as Vice President of Medical Affairs, Chief Medical Officer, and Chief Quality Officer for a number of healthcare organizations throughout the United States.
Tod Lambert, Group CEO, Cambridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, commented, “Dr. Podolsky has a wealth of regional and international experience both at a clinical and operational level and we are very pleased to have him on board. Having recently opened our first facility in Abu Dhabi, there are plans to expand Cambridge’s specialized services to a greater number of patients elsewhere in the UAE, as well as further afield in the region and Dr. Podolsky’s expertise makes him a vital addition to the team.”
Dr. Podolsky added, “Cambridge fills a gap as an independent long-term care facility in the region providing intense physiotherapy and rehabilitation for a wide variety of medically complex conditions. As a leader in the field, our commitment to international best practice is paramount in order to create a local centre of excellence that patients, families and industry professionals can trust.”
