Central Blood Bank honors Zain for its contribution in organizing blood drives

Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced that it was honored by the Central Blood Bank for its effective and continuous contribution in organizing blood drive campaigns. The honoring came as part of the annual ceremony to celebrate the World Blood Donor Day under the patronage and attendance of the Minister of Health His Excellency Dr. Ali Al Obaidi at the Crowne Plaza hotel.

In a press statement, Zain mentioned that it participated in the ceremony represented by the company’s Sales Director Ahmad Al Kandari, with the attendance of a number of prominent figures in the health sector, including HE the Minister of Health Dr. Ali Al Obaidi, the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Dr. Qais Al-Dowairi, the Director of Blood Transfusion Services Dr. Reem Al Radhwan, and Blood Transfusion Services Consultant Dr. Abdulaziz Al Basheer. The honoring ceremony came as part of the several activities and awareness campaigns the Central Blood Bank organizes annually to shed light on private-sector companies, groups, and individuals who greatly contribute to the field of blood donation.

The company explained that it is keen to organize internal blood drive campaigns for employees several times a year in collaboration with the Central Blood Bank to encourage employees to donate blood and save lives. Zain affirmed that its contribution to organizing internal blood drives falls under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility umbrella and aims to raise awareness and good will amongst employees of the importance of donating life-giving blood.

Zain confirmed that its support of blood drive campaigns shows its keenness in having a productive role in social and health activities. Especially with those that contribute with saving numerous amounts of people that are in need of blood, particularly people with rare blood types.
