The Diplomatic Club brings Qatar and Brazil together at Qatar International Food Festival 2014

The Diplomatic Club, Qatar’s premier private leisure and business venue, participate in the fifth copy of Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF). With this year’s national theme being healthy food, traditional Qatari dishes and the celebration of year of culture 2014 with original blends of Qatar and Brazilian cuisine. The club participated through the only “floating BBQ Donut” in Qatar, a major attraction at the event last year.

The Diplomatic Club is participating in the event, held over 20-23 March as part of its strategy to foster cultural interconnectivity through promoting events that allow people to experience a wide variety of lifestyles. In this case, it is Brazilian cuisine and culture that will be spotlighted, and the Qatar International Food Festival presents an excellent opportunity to bring people together through the sharing of cuisine and culture.

The BBQ Donut, which is offered by the Diplomatic Club is a fantastic floating food barge, seating up to eight people and featuring a specially installed BBQ grill, and equipped with all the necessary rigging and safety features which allow those seated to enjoy the atmosphere while maintaining an intimate group setting.

In the run up to the Festival, Mrs. Aysha Al-Marzouqi, the Assistant Director Sales and Marketing of the Diplomatic Club, said “We appreciate the role that Qatar Tourism Authority is playing in organizing this annual event we are very pleased to be taking part. This plays an important part in putting Qatar on the International map, and this year can strengthen ties with Brazil, an emerging country with a rich history, cuisine and culture.

QIFF 2014 will is held in co-operation between Qatar Tourism Authority and Qatar Airways in the Park of the Museum of Islamic Art. It will focus on the Year of Culture and Friendship between Qatar and Brazil by highlighting the traditional dishes of both countries. This year’s Festival’s activities include tasting food in the air, at the sea, and on the land, a concept that has been made possible through activities combined between amusement parks and a dinner on the floating BBQ Donut of the Diplomatic Club, which can be rented by people during the festival. During the activities Brazilian and Qatari culture will be demonstrated.
