Dubai alumni celebrates 60th anniversary of Haigazian University

The 60th anniversary celebrations of iconic Haigazian University have reached Dubai after refreshing memories of the university’s alumni with events in Beirut, Los Angeles, Athens and Yerevan.

The final celebrations of the liberal arts university took place on March 11, 2016, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dubai.

Organized by the Alumni Committee Gulf Chapter of Haigazian University, this first gala dinner brought together more than 300 graduates, friends, and supporters of the university, who had come to celebrate not only the solid academic programs of the university and its heritage, but also the warm family atmosphere it has created on its campus in Kantari, Beirut.

After a word of salutation by Zeina Daccache, an alumna of Haigazian and the MC for the night, Vatche Keverian – Chairman of the Alumni Committee Gulf Chapter, welcomed the attendees.

The university’s President Paul Haidostian highlighted the fact that Haigazian University, throughout its history, has not only aimed at bridging the gap among the youth of Lebanon, and among the financially able and the needy, but that is has also tried to construct towers of academic and human excellence in various ways.

Haidostian expressed his pride in the accomplishments of the alumni spread around the world, and considered the support of the financially and socially challenged students as of critical importance.

The president thanked the Gulf Chapter and all the supporters and sponsors for their unwavering commitment to and trust in Haigazian University.

The funds raised on the occasion will be used to support the scholarship program at the university founded in 1955.

President Haidostian also awarded Vatche Keverian the special medal of the 60th anniversary.

The program included live music, and was concluded with cutting of the anniversary cake by the President, flanked by a large number of proud alumni.
