Dubai Land Department (DLD) will be supporting Emiratisation at Careers UAE 2014, the nation’s major jobs fair held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The government real estate organisation will have two stands at the event, which takes place April 22-24, 2014 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“We are extremely keen to participate at Careers UAE 2014 as it is the perfect forum to launch initiatives that support the role of young citizens in building the nation. It also allows us to help them meet the challenges of a competitive global workforce,” said HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of DLD.

“UAE nationals need to be ready to lead the journey of progress and prosperity that we are currently experiencing. As a prominent UAE organisation, we aim to attract talented and qualified young citizens to explore opportunities with us and to continue with the high employment rate for nationals that this year saw us reach an Emiratisation figure of 90 percent of our total workforce,” he added.

According to the organisers of Careers UAE 2014, this year’s version of the fair is the largest yet in terms of area and number of participants, with 160 exhibitors occupying a floor space of 17,388 square metres. Alongside the expected high footfall from members of the general public attending, it is anticipated that the exhibition will attract the attention of official authorities and the media, as it is viewed as being an instrumental component in helping the UAE achieve a sustainable economy, both in the private and public sectors.

“DLD’s participation in Careers UAE 2014 allows us to follow the goals set in the national agenda, which is focused on developing the capabilities of our young citizens and providing them with the best opportunities. By playing a significant role at the event, we can help them achieve their ambitions and facilitate their continuous professional development,” added Bin Mejren.

Launched under the slogan ‘Together we build the vision of our nation’, Careers UAE 2014 will host two stands, the first under the umbrella of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department. The second, separate and larger display, will define DLD’s efforts in the field of Emiratisation, offering visitors an insight into the activities of its various arms.

“DLD considers Careers UAE 2014 to be a vital platform in helping us to find a new national cadre of graduates so that we can fill job vacancies in our department with suitable candidates. The exhibition allows us to meet with job seekers directly and to identify the new trends in the market,” said Ahmed Bin Faris, Senior Director of Human Resources Department. “Each year we give opportunities for fresh university leavers to work in DLD departments, which are always in need of young and well-educated employees. This policy supports the Emiratisation strategy being pursued by the government to invest in people, which are without doubt our greatest asset,” he added.
