IHCC, a turnkey solutions provider that specializes in healthcare, education and mixed-use projects, announced it has been ranked in the World’s Most Ethical Company list for 2014 that is annually compiled by the Ethisphere Institute, an independent center of research that promotes best practices in corporate ethics and governance.

IHCC’s inclusion on the list marks the debut of a Middle Eastern company among the world’s most ethical companies.

World’s Most Ethical Company recipients understand the correlation between ethics, reputation and daily interactions with their brand and share the conviction that the award belongs as much to their associates as it does to them. IHCC is among three companies in the design and build industry honored this year. Other companies that have made it to the listings include popular global brands such as Ford Motor Company, Xerox Corporation, Google, Inc., Microsoft Corporation, Symantec, Wipro Limited, Colgate-Palmolive Company, Kellogg Company, 3M Company, Marriott International, Inc., Time Warner Inc., Thomson Reuters, Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated, Marks and Spencer and Starbucks Coffee Company.

Sultan Batterjee, CEO, IHCC, said: “IHCC was conceptualized to fill the gap in advanced healthcare, educational and mixed-use infrastructure in the region. Since our inception, we have worked relentlessly towards delivering a wide-ranging portfolio of projects that continue to meet the needs of the community in the region for clients such as the World Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, the Saudi-German Hospitals, the Batterjee Medical College and Saudi Yemeni Health Care Company in Sana’a.”

Ethisphere’s Chief Executive Officer, Timothy Erblich, said: “The entire community of World’s Most Ethical Companies believes that customers, employees, investors and regulators place a high premium on trust and that ethics and good governance are key factors in earning trust. IHCC joins an exclusive community committed to driving performance through leading business practices. We congratulate the team at IHCC for this extraordinary achievement.”

IHCC is a turnkey solutions provider that offers everything from conception to completion including comprehensive feasibility studies, architectural design, MEP engineering, financing, construction, equipping and furnishing, staffing, as well as operational maintenance and renovation services. IHCC’s reputation as innovators has inspired prestigious clients such as the World Bank, Islamic Development Bank and some of the region’s largest funds and groups to entrust the company with projects worth over SR2bn.

The World’s Most Ethical Company assessment is based upon the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient framework. The Ethics Quotient framework has been developed over years of effort to provide a means to assess an organization’s performance in an objective, consistent and standardized manner. The information collected provides a comprehensive sampling of definitive criteria of core competencies rather than all aspects of corporate governance. Additionally, it offers a detailed analysis of risks, sustainability, compliance and ethics. The Ethics Quotient framework and methodology were determined, vetted and refined by the expert advice and insights gleaned from Ethisphere’s network of thought leaders and from the World’s Most Ethical Company® methodology advisory panel.

Scores are generated across five key categories: ethics and compliance program (25%), reputation, leadership and innovation (20%), governance (10%), corporate citizenship and responsibility (25%) and culture of ethics (20%).
