Hamad Medical Corporation receives three Arab Health Awards

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) took home three awards from the recent prestigious Arab Health Awards 2014 in Dubai in the categories of Patient Centered Care, Excellence in Radiology and Cleveland Clinic Young Physician of the Year.

The HMC Cancer Transformation Program took the prize for the Patient Centered Care Award and the team from HMC Emergency Radiology was awarded in the Excellence in Radiology category. In addition, Dr. Ibrahim M Fazwy Hassan, Director of Medical Intensive Care at Hamad General Hospital, Deputy Medical Director for the HMC Ambulance Service and Assistant Professor of Medicine and Genetic Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College Qatar, took home the Cleveland Clinic Young Clinician of the Year Award.

The Arab Health Innovation and Achievement Awards is part of Arab Health; the largest congress and exhibition in the Middle East and the second largest in the world. The award ceremony, which took place at the Dubai Exhibition Center on Tuesday 28 January 2014, recognizes individuals or organizations that have contributed to the growth and development of the healthcare industry in the Middle East.

Hanan Al Kuwari PhD, Managing Director for HMC, expressed how pleased she was with the recognition and sees this as a success, not just for the organization, but for the State of Qatar.

Dr. Ibrahim M Fawzy, Cleveland Clinic’s Young Clinician of the Year, was keen to thank those who have supported him and contributed to this success. “It is with great pleasure and joy I accept the award of Cleveland Clinic Young Clinician of the Year for the Middle East. I share this honor with the fantastic Medical Intensive Care Unit and the fabulous Ambulance Service. I am truly blessed to be part of a dedicated patient-focused team.
