Information City continues its ‘Educate a Child, Build a Nation’ initiative

This summer holiday was rich with educational activities for children between 8 and 13 years, who were nominated by Information City to join its unique initiative ‘Educate a Child, Build the Nation’ under the chairmanship of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum.

This summer training program is held with MTN, its strategic partner, and it is the third phase for 2014, which took place in Etisalat Academy, Zabeel Institute and other institutes all over the UAE. With new international sponsors, PepsiCo and ADC Int’l on board, Information City confirms that its ongoing initiative will have a different flavor and achievements.

The first phase was held at Etisalat Academy in Dubai, while the second was limited to females only, however the third phase consisted of two parts, attended by 700 local and expatriates learners. The first part was held in Etisalat Academy for 3 days from 28 to 30 August, while the second part was carried out for one week in several educational institutes in UAE.

“Educate a Child, Build the Nation” initiative proved its success and effectiveness with the support of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, and aims at enlightening the minds of children who admire technology and look for the challenge. The three days camp surpassed all ordinary standards of education and proved to be informative as well as cultural.

The initiative which will put the cornerstone of the vitality of early childhood education, was admired by senior personnel and supervisors from the Ministry of Education and representatives of charity organizations, who visited the camp and met the young learners and praised the great efforts of the trainers and officials at the academy.

‘Educate a Child, Build the Nation’ Initiative represents a vital event for partners and sponsors, who played an important role in supporting the initiative and have worked hand in hand with Information City to enhance the social awareness of the CSR. International companies such as PepsiCo, ADC International, JAGUAR LAND ROVER Middle East Ltd, MASHREQ BANK, BASF, PETROFAC, REDEFINE Real Estates Development, THALES Middle East, Atlantis Hotel, believe that such programs remain the key to developing the future of the nation, and link education to economic growth and contribute to improved productivity and better economic performance in the future of Dubai.

However, another positive approach to this exclusive initiative was assured by the collaboration of governmental and semi-governmental entities including, Knowledge & Human Development Authority, Dubai Charity Association, Humanitarian International City, supported by Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation, Arab Society for Social Support, and other contributors from private sector.
