Marka PJSC (DFM: MARKA) announced the opening of two new retail outlets operated by its dedicated sports retail division, Marka Sports.

The launch of a new Cheeky Monkeys outlet and Nike store form part of the company’s growth strategy focused on expanding its network of high-profile global brands and homegrown retail concepts.

“I am delighted to announce the opening of two exciting new outlets – Cheeky Monkeys and Nike – in Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain respectively,” said Nick Peel, CEO of Marka. “This is just the start of what we expect to be a busy 2016 as we continue to build a well-balanced retail portfolio with a focus on delivering long term shareholder value,” he added.

The news comes hot on the heels of the opening of a new Reem Al Bawadi franchise outlet at Al Ain’s Hilli Mall, and the launch of City Chic, the leading global plus size fashion brand, at Al Naeem Mall in Ras Al Khaimah. Ras Al Khaimah will soon be home to a sixth owner-operated Reem Al Bawadi restaurant, which is due to open in the coming weeks, also at Al Naeem Mall.

The leading ‘edutainment’ destination for children under six years of age, Cheeky Monkeys’ newest outlet is located in Al Naeem Mall and is the brand’s first outlet outside of Dubai. The facility will provide a variety of classes specifically formulated to enhance toddlers’ developmental skills for which it has become famous.

“The high demand for Nike and Cheeky Monkeys has enabled us to expand their presence across the UAE and we are delighted to be adding to these new stores to our retail network. 2016 is going to be an exciting year for Marka as we focus on building our portfolio of global and home-grown brands across Marka Hospitality, Marka Fashion and Marka Sports,” added Peel.

Marka confirmed that they are the exclusive Nike Only Store operators in Al Ain. With product offerings that feature the very best of Nike for women’s, men’s and kids’ activewear and footwear and spread across 4,850 square feet on the ground floor of the mall, the new location doubles the surface selling area of the previous store and is an exciting addition to Al Ain’s growing retail landscape.
