The Middle East Council of Shopping Centres – MECSC will be participating in the 14th edition of the UAE Career’s Fair, which will be held from the 22nd to the 24th of April at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

This Career Fair is the largest Training & Recruitment Exhibition for UAE nationals. With the initiative from the Ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Emiritization of the local work force is vital to the success and well being of the UAE. The MECSC is leading the way in providing retail industry training programs to educate the leaders of tomorrow how to build, run, manage, market and lease successful shopping centres. Training leaders to become the ‘Mayor (leader) of the Mall’.

“UAE’s Retail Sector To Grow 33% By 2015- from Dhs114 billion in 2012 to reach Dhs151 billion by 2015” a promising statistic that was published on Gulf Business Report dated 10th March 2014.

With such rapid growth, the demand for a highly qualified work force in the Retail Industry is on the rise. To ensure a great partnership, the MECSC training sessions are hosted over short term and long term courses. These sessions are conducted by experienced and successful industry professionals offering tools and information and proven systems that are relevant to the MENA region.

“We see huge potential and promise in the young Emirati Nationals and by Participating in the UAE Career’s Fair, the MECSC offers a solution to Nationals to join a key industry in the UAE that will give them career opportunities to secure leading roles within the Shopping Malls and the Retail industry.

The MECSC would like to address the misconception that the Mall has limited designations such as a “Salesman or Checkout Counter assistant”, this cannot be further from the truth.

Various departments within a Mall, include IT and Social Media Management, Marketing & Events Department, Facility Management, Operational Management, Leasing, Finance and Shopping Centre development are all areas which offer career paths in the Retail Industry. There is room to grow and reach positions that also include the ‘Mayor of the Mall’ – which is one of the most significant roles in a shopping centre, leading the multimillion dollar investment!” says David Macadam CEO & Vice Chairman of Middle East Council of Shopping Centres.
