In yet another initiative to show its commitment and support to all segments of society, the exclusive dealer for Mitsubishi vehicles in Oman, General Automotive Company (GAC), recently sponsored the First Childhood Group’s Forum. The event aimed to highlight child-related issues and to encourage individuals and institutions from all sectors of society to participate in the development of the community through supporting child-focused initiatives.

Mark Tomlinson, General Manager of Mitsubishi Oman, highlighted GAC’s participation and support of the event which took place at Sultan Qaboos University between 13-16 April 2014. “As a responsible organization, we strive to be a good corporate citizen by actively participating in the task of nation building, and we believe in our integral role in the community and our commitment towards the society. We measure our organisational success through the positive impact of what we do for the society in which we operate, be it via business operations or through our various CSR initiatives. General Automotive Company is a name that has always been associated with quality and reliability, and we strive to continue to top the list of leading businesses in the development and wellbeing of the society,” he said.

“The First Childhood Group’s Forum aimed to address issues related to children and to spread the public awareness and stress on the importance of child education. It also aimed to build on the efforts towards enhancing and promoting the well being of children across Oman by bringing together public, private and non-government institutions in a comprehensive 4-day child-focused event. The message to be emphasised here is that we all have a responsibility towards the development and proper education of children, who are indeed the future of the nation,” added Mark.

The forum was organised under the patronage of H.E Shaikh Zahir bin Abdullah Al-Abri a member of State Council and was attended by officials, university students and teachers, parents and children, as well as individuals and representatives of different organisations. During the event, GAC also showcased two brand new models, the Mitsubishi Mirage and Mitsubishi Attrage. Members of the audience hailed Mitsubishi’s participation and enjoyed the test-drive opportunities offered by GAC. Participants enjoyed a first-hand driving experience with the newest members of the Mitsubishi family in Oman, models which epitomise the triple-diamond badge of excellence.
