Oman CMA reviews insurance jobs opportunities
The Capital Market Authority is participating in the Jobs Opportunities and Training Exhibition 2015 organized by Sultan Qaboos University during the period 10-12 March.
The opening ceremony was chaired by HE Sheikh Abdullah Naser Al Bakri, Minister of Manpower.
CMA aims from such participation to introduce the roles and responsibilities of the insurance sector in the national economy as element of the requirements of comprehensive development, further to introducing job opportunities provided by the sector for Omanis in management, accounting, finance and information technology.
The meetings with students and those approaching graduation is an opportunity to highlight the nature of the professions they may take after graduation or through training with insurers in the training courses which add value through acquisition of technical skills in addition to introducing the insurance sector, its business, employment opportunities allow the students to know the benefits available in the sector whether as employees of insurance companies or through setting up small and medium enterprises in the field of insurance brokerage.
Furthermore, CMA is encouraging insurance companies to take part in such forums to find out about the specializations available at colleges and universities.
Engineer Taleb Al Kharousi, Manager of the Al Madina Takafu Branch at SQU, said: “Work for the insurance sector is prestigious.”
It is noteworthy that the insurance sector has achieved during 2014 an Omanization ratio at 68 per cent.
CMA is keen to promote employment opportunities to enhance the sector’s contribution to the national economy and maximize the added economic value of the sector which require introducing to the youth the structure of the sector and the opportunities.
CMA is training national cadres by providing training courses which would enhance their skills in line with the requirements of the sector to cope with rapid changes and developments as part of the endeavors of the wise government’s Omanization policy and the cooperation of the private sector to accommodate the national human resources in view of the increasing employment opportunities in the insurance sector.
