Oman plans Ebola reaction

A meeting was held lately by the National Emergency Committee for suspected Ebola cases at the Ministry of Health , under the chairmanship of Mohammed bin Saif al Hosni, Under-Secretary for Health Affairs at the Ministry of Health, with a view to discuss the ministry’s emergency plans and response to Ebola virus in case it emerges, Oman Daily Observer reported. The agenda during the meeting included the measures prepared by the specialist medical team headed by Dr Saif al Abri regarding dealing with suspected cases and transferring them to specialist healthcare centres, the support provided to clinical care, provision of prevention equipment and the means of transferring samples to international laboratories for testing, Oman Daily Observer. The meeting was attended by Dr Sultan bin Yaroub al Busaidy, Health Ministry Adviser for Health Affairs, directors-general of health and legal affairs authorities, officials from the quarantine authority at Muscat International Airport.
