Oman Airport Management Co (OAMC) is set to issue soon requests for proposals (RFPs) to invite interest from companies to operate duty-free, retail and food and beverages concessions at the new Muscat International and Salalah Airports, Muscat Daily has reported. In the first phase, RFPs for a single master concession for the Salalah International Airport will be announced in the first week of March to cover duty-free, retail and F&B, with the contract expected to be awarded by July this year, said Sheikh Samer al Nabhani, general manager of commercial operations of OAMC. “In the second phase, RFPs will be issued for concessions at the new Muscat International Airport probably during the fall of this year,” he said. “And hopefully, in the beginning of next year, we may announce the winning bidders for contracts for duty free, retail and F&B at the new Muscat International Airport,” al Nabhani added.
