The Omani cabinet has been instructed by Sultan Qaboos to postpone its decision to restrict the Public Authority for Consumer Protection’s (PACP) powers of monitoring goods to only 23 food items, pending the issuance of economic laws related to the regulation of the market, Times of Oman has reported. The move was made after members of Majlis Al Shura unanimously rejected the decision, which they said left the prices of the remaining items to the ‘vagaries of the market forces.’
