The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has announced the cancellation of the registration of the medical product Protelos, which is used to treat osteoporosis, Saudi Gazette has reported. The decision was made based on the recommendation of the committee in charge of registering the medication of pharmaceutical plants, which said that the product’s risks outweigh its therapeutic benefits. The SFDA has called on users to stop taking the medicine, noting that the authorities will take it off market shelves.
