Qatar’s Hamad Medical Corp (HMC) has launched a new appraisal system for pharmacists, as part of efforts aimed at providing quality medicinal services, Gulf Times has reported. The appraisal system is based on the Model Standards of Practice for Canadian Pharmacists, and aims to benchmark staff performance at HMC’s pharmacies against international standards. Compared with the old system, the new one is more accurate, fair, comprehensive and clear. It promotes competition and innovation amongst staff, and puts more focus on measurable performance standards for patient care,” said the executive director of HMC’s Pharmacy Department, Dr Mozah al-Hail.
