The Saudi health ministry is planning to build a number of new psychiatric hospitals in various regions, while the old ones will be used to accommodate homeless, mentally-ill people, Saudi Gazette has reported. “The old hospitals will be used for the accommodation and treatment of the homeless and mentally-disturbed persons who are now aimlessly roaming the streets of major cities,” said director of Jeddah’s Psychiatric Hospital, Dr Suhail Khan.
