The second International Nursing Conference of Al Noor kicks-off in Abu Dhabi on September 5th

The second International Nursing Conference of Al Noor (INCAN) in collaboration with Higher Colleges of Technology is all set to kick-off in Abu Dhabi on Friday, September 5th and will be held at the Abu Dhabi Women’s College, City Campus. More than 300 participants including; Nursing Directors, Nurses and nursing students in the UAE will be taking part in the upcoming conference.

Dr. Kassem Alom, CEO of Al Noor Hospitals Group and the Conference President said: “The International Nursing conference of Al Noor is one of five other healthcare specialized conferences organized by Al Noor Hospitals Group, all intended to keep those working in the field abreast of the latest global developments, by means of disseminating and discussing the latest in the healthcare sector”.

Dr. Alom added: “Following the success of the first International Nursing conference of Al Noor in 2013 and the overwhelming feedback from the attendees, we decided to continue organizing this important scientific forum for a second year. The Conference is an excellent platform to discuss all topics related specifically to nursing profession and to highlight the vital role of nurses in healthcare, especially that the number of nurses in the UAE has reached today more than 20,000”.

“The standards of nursing services across the healthcare facilities have clearly developed as a result of the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi’s regulations and licensing procedures to ensure that all nurses hired are qualified and competent to practice”. “The Conference’s five learning objectives are; applying knowledge and tools to practice mindfulness in providing compassionate and empathetic care, discussing the heart of nursing practice, evaluating the major factors contributing to nursing shortages, assessing the impact of work stressors on patient care and last of all, assessing how leadership approaches need to change for nursing to develop and for nurses to enjoy their role” concluded Dr. Alom.

Dr. Aman El-Duweini, Corporate Director for Continuing Medical Education (CME) at Al Noor Hospitals Group and the Conference’s Secretary General said: “The Conference will host distinguished faculty from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Mafraq Hospital, Dubai Health Authority, the National Rehabilitation Center, Burjeel Hospital, NMC and from Al Noor Hospitals Group”.

Dr. El Duweini added: “The conference will include four different sessions that will address a number of topics including; The Human Touch and Nursing Practice, Positive Attitude, Stress Management in Nursing Practice among many others.” Dr. El Duweini added that the conference has received the accreditation by the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi for 6 Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Category One hours.
