La Liga, the professional Spanish football league, in association with Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA), has officially opened its first operations office in the Middle East catering to the rising demand for La Liga commercial involvement in the region. Globally the Spanish football league is growing from strength to strength with an ever increasing fan base in the Middle East.

As a first of its kind in the region, La Liga’s office will usher in a new era for more business and commercial agreements by bringing the world’s most popular football leagues closer to its fan-base.

The MoU which was signed late last year with DAFZA came after careful consideration for a location that would connect the Middle East and North Africa with the 85 year-old Spanish league.

Fernando SanzDurán, La Liga’s Middle East and North Africa General Director said, “Dubai Airport Free Zone was chosen as La Liga’s first address in the Middle East due to its state-of-the-art infrastructure and dynamic trading environment that attracts investors, sponsors and news business partners within the region”

LaLiga was an active supporter of the Dubai Expo 2020 bid with promotions at stadiums across Spain, including perimeter advertising which was be seen by a worldwide television audience.

Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni, Director-General of DAFZA said: “It is with great pleasure that we welcome La Liga to Dubai, their choice in choosing DAFZA as a platform for their operations in the region is a true indicator of the superior services that we offer as a freezone to our partners. We wish La Liga continued success and look forward to their exciting activities. ”
