Dubai’s minds over matter: Big unveiling of STEP tech and startup conference

STEP, the most experiential conference in the Middle East goes into its second day in Dubai.

This conference has attracted over 6,000 attendees and is showcasing 250 startups.

The four conferences

STEP START: This conference includes founders, startups, and entrepreneurs.

Mentorship sessions and competitions are the main features of this conference.

Speakers include Sherif Tawfik, Regional Director of Commercial Partners engagement and Microsoft channel transformation in the Gulf region.

Tawfik has a strong focus on Technology Ventures, Start-ups, Internet Marketing, and Financing the Entrepreneurship Business.

Throughout his time in Microsoft, he has received many awards such as the Chairman Award , which was presented by Bill Gates.

Another noteworthy speaker is Zach Finkelstein, Vice President of Corporate Development at Careem.

He was named 30 under 30 in Venture Capital by Forbes in 2016.

He has invested in Careem, OpenDNS (acquired by Cisco), Xtime (acquired by Cox Automotive), Mulesoft (NYSE: Mule), Kabbage, Procore, and others.

Top CEO Conference and Awards return to Saudi Arabia for the second time

STEP DIGITAL: This Conference will touch on the most forward-thinking topics and trends on digital, advertising, and technologies.

Speakers include Christian Eid, Senior Brand Director of e-commerce site Noon.com.

Having spent the last 10 years in startups, Chris champions social enterprise, and has helped build some of our favourite homegrown brands.

Passionate about branding, and more importantly impact, Chris leads noon’s journey to becoming the strongest, most impactful and beloved brand of the region.

A noteworthy speaker that’s going to be on stage is David Ham, Strategy and Campaign Manager for UBER.

He contributed in several fields during his 2.5 years at UBER, including, Research, Insights and Brand building.

STEP X: The main focus of this conference is future technologies; smart cities, AI, and cloud.

Nadim Ghrayeb, Head of Marketing for Cadillac ME, will be taking the stage; he is responsible for strategies relating to sales operations across the region.

Also present will be Aya Sadder, the incubator manager of Intelak, the first Aviation and Travel Incubator in the ME.

Sadder delivered a TEDx on The Role of Startups in the Experience Economy.

STEP MONEY: This conference talks about the most relevant financial technologies including Blockchain, cryptocurrencies and much more.

Prominent speakers in this conference include Saqr Ereiqat, Program Manager for IBM’s Consulting Global Business Services.

He has led multiple complex projects in 23 countries, and right now he is assisting clients in identifying BlockChain strategies.

Some of his clients include DHL, Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA), and Shell.

Gary Sheynkman is another speaker. He is Managing Partner at Leyden Ventures an investment and advisory firm based in Dubai.

He provided advice for Area 2071 on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai.
