The Middle East’s first start-up to raise funds by a top Silicon Valley Venture Capital firm, Fetchr, launched a new service to ensure faster product deliveries to users.

The app, which breathed new life to the business of shipments and deliveries, has launched Fetchr NOW, which allows users to send and receive packages using their smartphones and GPS.

“Fetchr NOW is a lifestyle brand and we are giving people the most precious gift of time,” said Joy Ajlouny, co-founder of Fetchr.

“The future is all about mobile. We leave addresses for the other guys,” he added.

The app tackles the hassle of having “no actual address”; instead, it schedules pick-ups and deliveries using mobile phone GPS coordinates, through a patented technology.

The new feature, Fetchr NOW, allows for even faster services. The closest available drive gets notified as soon as a request is initiated on the app. The driver heads directly to the pick-up location, gets the package and delivers it to the receiver, with no stops involved.

Users can track the driver’s route in real time and see an updated estimated time of arrival to the drop-off location, factoring in traffic, directions and other elements.

The app is available 24 hours depending on the availability of a driver and their proximity. The Fetchr Now service is available in Dubai at a flat rate fee of AED40, with a cash-on-delivery option.

Fetchr, which was founded and currently operates in Dubai, has expansion plans for Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, in the pipeline.
