Is there a new project that will dwarf Burj Khalifa?
Dubai, with world-class tourism and smartly tailored destinations, is always hitting the news with its new infrastructure projects and towering projects.
It has managed to always create new attractions, from themed parks to new restaurants, with a central attraction like Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, always part of the pull.
However, a new tower is creating a buzz that could steal some of the limelight from Burj Khalifa.
This unnamed tower is the first of our below picks for towers that will shape UAE’s future scape.
1-The still-unnamed tower
Dubai Media Office announced on social media the construction of Dubai’s second tallest tower in collaboration with Azizi Group.
According to Azizi Chairman, Mirwais Azizi, the 570m skyscraper along Sheikh Zayed Road will be the fifth-tallest in the world and is going to be completed sometime between 2021 and 2022, as reported by Emirates Women.
It is set to cost Dhs3 billion ($820 million), as the tower will be 122 storeys high when finished.
That will be split into 100 floors of apartments, Gulf News reports, with a 22-floor hotel on top…
2-Dubai One Tower
Standing around 710 meters high, Dubai One Tower is planned to be the tallest residential building in the world and the world’s fourth tallest upon its completion, which is slated for 2021, according to The Skyscraper Center.
3- Entisar Tower
Entisar Tower construction started in 2016 and is set to be built in 2020. It is 570 meters tall and will have 111 floors, according to Medyan, the project’s developer, but the construction is currently on hold.
5- The Dubai-Creek Tower
The Dubai Creek Tower is reportedly set to take the Burj Khalifa’s crown and become the Emirate’s tallest-ever building upon delivery in 2020.
According to H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE, the tower will “be as great as the Burj Khalifa and Eiffel Tower.”
The exact height of the building won’t be revealed until the opening day.
