This short question could typically cost you anywhere between $100 to $500, depending on which doctor you ask.
A new app, “Health at Hand” promises immediate health consultations while keeping your wealth almost intact.
Health at Hand is an app-based live video consultation platform, providing users with convenient, affordable access to licensed doctors wherever and whenever care is needed.
Anyone over the age of 18 can sign up and gain access to a doctor within minutes.
How much does it cost?
Two weeks ago AMEinfo published an article on how UAE millionaires were more interested in health than wealth.
While this is true, saving money is still a plus and health at hand offers a range of affordable payment options, such as Pay as you go, a $27 per consultation.
Alternatively, users can choose from one of three Health at Hand subscription plans, providing unlimited access to consultations:
Individual plans start from $5 per month which is charged at a $68 annual payment or $9.5 per month.
Family plans are also available for up to 5 people starting at $9.8 per month as a $117 yearly payment or $16 as a monthly payment.
Businesses can also benefit from Health at Hand’s corporate subscription model for companies.
Employers enjoy a unique differentiator when employing staff, offering an enhanced benefits package, reducing sick days and absenteeism while also improving team morale.
Importantly, the number of insurance claims is reduced bringing down the cost of insurance premiums.
Meet your new doctor
All Health at Hand doctors are UAE-based with DHA licenses.
Before approval, all doctors are put through an accreditation process to ensure only high-quality doctors who are experienced, compassionate, trustworthy, and reliable are chosen.
Health at Hands rigorous selection process includes comprehensive checks on professional qualifications, fitness to work and professional indemnity insurance.
Most of the calls are answered within 5 minutes of starting the call set up.
Health at Hand operates a queuing process: after confirming payment you enter the queue in the virtual waiting room.
Once a doctor has accepted a file for review, the wait will be less than 2 minutes.
The consultation also takes only 15 min.
Currently, Health at Hand does not have any direct billing with any medical insurers. All payment is made using a credit card, and do not provide signed/stamped insurance forms for pay and claim. However, Health at Hand is working hard on signing partnerships with leading insurance providers and will be introducing this service shortly.
Health at Hand is currently working on the integration of a model that will allow insurers to partner with Health at Hand.
What this means is that patients are currently unable to claim reimbursement for the cost of their Health at Hand consultations from insurers.
The good news is that sick notes will also be available in the coming weeks and e-prescriptions will also be rolling out soon.
