Make this call and your personal guide to UAE tourism landmarks is free
Chinese tourists in the UAE will be personally guided through the city’s top touristic sites, thanks to a new deal by Huawei and Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce.
Not only will a personal digital assistant guide you during your stay in Dubai, but a set of preloaded cinematographic content on a Huawei mobile phone will now also help you navigate the country.
Inbound visitors from China, according to WAM, rose approximately 40% in 2017, compared to the previous year.
This fact caught the attention of Dubai, a hotspot for tourists, and Huawei, a globally renowned technology brand with revenues exceeding $78.5 billion last year, both to collaborate and strike a deal like no other.
How does it work?
At the outset, Huawei plans to preload all its devices with both user-generated and official cinematographic content of Dubai.
This will showcase to Huawei’s broad customer base the diversity and richness of the city as one of the most popular global destinations.
As part of the new marketing campaign that was agreed upon, Huawei Mobile Services will be leveraged to enrich the ‘Dubai experience’ for Chinese tourists.
The service offers useful and conveniently accessible content, in particular through the company’s newly-updated SkyTone travel and roaming apps.
Q1 is seeing a huge increase
China is one of Dubai’s top 5 source markets, with the latest tourism arrival figures showing a 12% increase in Chinese travelers to the emirate in the first quarter (January – March 2018) over the same period last year.
Huawei’s extensive range of products include mobile phones, wearables, tablets, and laptops, and are available in more than 170 countries.
These products have over 30% of the globe’s Tech market, and in 2017 ranked third in the world for mobile phone shipments.
