The Huawei P20 and three others have arrived: Details inside

March 29, 2018 2:30 pm

AMEinfo revealed earlier this month how numerous tech websites – including reputed ones such as TechRadar and GSMArena –   had stated how the new Huawei flagship phones P20, P20 Lite and P20 Pro would (most probably) be launched at a Paris event to be held on March 27, 2018.

And now they are all here, even a new Porsche Design Mate RS.

What might generate the UAE $6bn annually, get you fired and even kill you?

The P20 – P20 Pro

Looking at the phones, we can first notice the 19:9 display having a 1080 x 2244 pixels, and a notch.

The front-facing camera is 24mp, and Huawei has been able to make the notch incredibly small.

The processor is updated to the Kirin 970, and just like the Mate 10 that was released in October last year it features AI capabilities, but unlike the Mate 10’s 13 AI scenes, the P20 features 19 scenes all of which have proven to work without failure.

The Mate 10 will get the additional scenes as reported by Android Authority, in the incoming 8.1 android update.

The scenes included: Cat, Dog, Food, Group, Fireworks, Blue Sky, Flowers, Stage, Document, Natural, Close-up, Night shot, Text, Greenery, Portrait, Stage, Sunset, Snow, Waterfall, and Beach.

Sadly both phones do not have an in-display fingerprint sensor, but they still sport the faster sensor on the front. Tech enthusiasts assume that the in-display sensor was not quick enough that is why they did not put it in.

As it stands, there are three main differences to both phones: first is the size, display, and battery, second is water-resistance, and third is the cameras’ extra 3x zoom that is made possible through the 3rd camera.

Display wise; the P20 Pro has a 6.1 inch while the P20 has 5.8 inches.

The battery is 4,000mAh on the P20 Pro while the P20 has a 3,400mAh.

Both phones offer fast charge and claim to charge 58% in 30 min.

The cameras are also changed.

The P20 has two cameras: One is 20 MP (2x Zoom), and the other is 12mp with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

The Pro has three cameras, a 40 MP sensor with OIS, a 20 MP monochrome sensor that can take low light pictures, and an 8 MP sensor that has 3x lossless zoom.

Both phones take pictures from all their sensors to mesh it into one amazing single photo.

Another difference which won’t be very apparent is the 6 GB RAM in the P20 Pro while the P20 has 4 GB of RAM.

Both phones have an infrared port, so you can turn on the AC, and TV without searching for their separate remotes

P20 lite

Again the first thing we notice on this phone is the display; it’s the same as its older siblings having a notch.

The cameras are changed here at 16 mp and 2 MP so nothing major.

The front camera is 16 mp.

And it has a slower fast charge.

The P20 lite has a rear fingerprint sensor instead.

Almost all phone manufacturers have adopted the Apple philosophy of killing an essential port, the headphone jack, so you better stock up on those USB C adapters.

Mate RS Porsche Design

The only things that are different on this phone compared to the P20 Pro are the Brand, the Display, and the Price.

Mate RS, Reported by Android Central to launch at a price of $1,999.

This phone isn’t any champion regarding the display, and it still has the same display that we have come to know, rectangular, and frankly, it’s not that exciting, but what’s exciting is the in-display fingerprint reader.

The Brand although, speaks luxury.
