Return of GITEX Shopper

GITEX Shopper is an eight-day electronics sales extravaganza, which has been part of the consumer tech growth in the region for nearly 30 years, contributing millions of dollars in sales.

Millions up for grabs

In 2017, the event will take place from September 23 to 30 at the Dubai World Trade Centre and will run from 11am to 11pm every day. The show’s success has banked on giving consumers a choice between a number of offers on the latest regional product launches and the possibility of winning valuable prizes, with millions of Dirhams up for grabs.

Present at the event will be the world’s top brands and retailers, displaying more than 35,000 products, including smartphones, TVs, laptops, wearable tech, smart watches, cameras, gaming consoles and virtual reality hardware, among many others.

The show’s growth is a reflection of a market that is booming.  The UAE consumer electronics market is worth $11.3 billion, according to Euromonitor International. A key driver of this growth is consumer connectivity. Mobile phone companies shipped more than 347 million smartphones worldwide in Q1 2017.

Here’s your chance

“GITEX Shopper is an excellent opportunity to purchase the latest must-have consumer electronics at unbeatable prices, with all the UAE’s major retailers present under one roof,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

For photography enthusiasts, GITEX Shopper provides visitors a wide range of options. Synonymous with the extravaganza are the region’s power retailers, who bring consumer electronics to the Middle East all year round. These include Jacky’s Electronics, Jumbo Group, Max Electronics and Sharaf DG.
