The Dubai Courts Department (DCD) is taking part in GITEX Technology Week 2015 within Dubai Smart Government pavilion under the theme of “Future Courts, Innovational Services for a Happy Community”, celebrating the long way it has come in providing the public with hassle-free electronic judicial services that can be easily accessed through its website or across smart devices.

H.E. Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, Director-General of DCD, said Dubai Courts will unveil new smart and electronic services in GITEX Technology Week, which will be held from 18-22 October 2015. Ten smart platforms will be added to the services offered via DCD’s portal, which aim to facilitate access to customer services and increase Happiness Index for clients and staff by simplifying the services and speeding up litigation.

“We are keen to realize the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who said “I want people to complete all government transactions via mobile phones.” he remarked.

“In line with this vision,” Al Mansouri added, “The DCD has exerted efforts to provide its services through smart applications, enabling the public to access these services easily and promptly. We have digitised 217 services so far, surpassing the target of increasing the number of our smart services to 200 by the end of 2015,” Al Mansouri further added.

He noted that “The DCD is the first government department to offer 217 smart services accessible via smart devices, so that customers can perform all processes, from case registration, review, follow-up, enquiry, and fee payment all the way to case decisions anywhere, anytime.”

“The DCD has kept up with global technical developments to achieve the smart government vision of our leadership. The majority of our services have become electronically available, easily accessible, without the need for visiting the courts in person,” he said.

The Director-General explained that “The DCD is actively working to achieve the aspirations and visions of the Emirate of Dubai, setting plans and policies, and directing operations to satisfy customers with the best-in-class judicial and administrative services. We always look forward to the highest levels of excellence, meet the best international standards, and become “Number One” in all that we do across industry sectors. Our staff work with one-team spirit and look to realize our vision for pioneering in the courts work.”

For his part, Abdulrahim Ahmad Almudhareb, IT Director at Dubai Courts, said: “Visitors to our stand at the GITEX Technology Week will be briefed on Dubai Courts portal and its electronic services; the Verdict Management, a powerful electronic system for judges to electronically deliberate and issue decisions; the Private Notary, a new service launched by Dubai government to provide private notary’s electronic attestation service.”

“During the GITEX Technology Week, the DCD will also unveil the Smart Payment System, an automated system for making payments and wiring the outstanding amounts directly to the clients’ bank accounts on a monthly basis through the SMARTBUSINESS platform of the Emirates NBD. In addition, we will introduce the Documents Security System, which aims to track original documents and create visibility of their movement and circulation using RFID technology,” Almudhareb added.

He pointed out that the DCD will also introduce Mabade- Legal Principles, an application to deliver legal provisions and principles in criminal, civil, commercial, labor and personal status issued by Dubai’s Court of Cassation since its inception. The application’s features include advanced search, easy access, and the ability to send the legal principles and decisions by e-mail. It is designed to serve judges, prosecutors, lawyers and all parties involved in legal actions.

Nibras and the Automated Public Notices System are other additions to the newly- introduced smart services the DCD will unveil in GITEX Technology Week.

The Automated Public Notices is a device used to publish public notices of cases in a number of newspapers and make cash or credit card payments, in both English and Arabic.

Nibras, on the other hand, offers a bundle of services, in both Arabic and English, including: court procedures, case follow-up, Dubai Court sitemap and activity images, access to Dubai Court portal and services, making suggestions, surveys, session agenda and Happiness Index. It is available in the DCD’s headquarters, and branches of the Public Notary in Al Tawar and Barsha.

The DCD’s stand no. S2-S3/A21 in Sheikh Saeed HAlls 3, within the pavilion of Dubai Smart Government, promises visitors to spend an exciting time enjoying surprises, competitions, and valuable gifts and prizes.
