The Abu Dhabi Police is drafting a new policy aimed at controlling and regulating the functioning of internet cafes across the emirate, Khaleej Times has reported. The proposed policy will control the misuse of internet, particularly by the youth, said Lt. Col. Mubarak bin Muhairom, head of the Community Police Department. “There is a dire need to strengthen the awareness of the various segments of society for the proper use of Internet cafes, especially by adolescents and young students who play games online,” he said. “The regulations of the law and stipulated conditions to be followed by those cafes need to be reviewed so as to ensure proper use of the internet.”
