Smartphones will dominate Gitex Technology Week 2014, as key brands and manufacturers gear up to unveil the latest devices, Khaleej Times reported. Several global brands will be showcasing their existing flagship models and will likely also take the opportunity to showcase their new launches, such as Sony with the Xperia Z3, Huawei Ascend Mate 7, Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4, Microsoft’s Nokia Lumia 730 (currently code-named Superman), and of course Apple’s iPhone 6. Many of these are scheduled for a global release in September, however, there will be a strong push to bring them to the region in time for Gitex. These phones will include the increasingly popular features and trends in smartphones that include larger screen sizes, focus on superior ‘selfie’ cameras features, curved or flexible displays, fancy sensors such as fingerprint and retina sensors, higher quality exterior, and waterproof form factor.
