Dubai Police General Headquarters, represented by the Centre Traffic Department honored His Excellency Salem AlMoosa, Chairman of AlMoosa Investments Group for its creative support and Platinum sponsorship of the White Points System in an extravagant ceremony organized at Waldorf Astoria Palm Island Hotel on Monday 12th May, 2014.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum – Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Emirates Group – who was also present at the event to hand out tokens of appreciation to sponsors, participants and facilitators of the initiative.

In receipt of this honor, Salem AlMoosa said “We are very honored to partner with the Dubai Police, without whom this campaign would not have been possible. Our efforts in this endeavor is to facilitate a safe driving environment and minimize catastrophic traffic incidents for our local and expat communities. Although this lays a significant incentive on the Dubai Police to lead such a framework, there is an equal significance in the public’s role to play their part by following traffic rules and being model citizens that promote a safe city culture.”

AlMoosa added that the program was in line with The Group’s core values, and they would continue to promote such initiatives periodically. AlMoosa also praised the achievements of the Centre Traffic Department and what it aspires to achieve its traffic goals.

Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, General Commander of Dubai Police, praised the efforts and endeavors of all who partnered and contributed to the development of the White Point System, from both private and public sectors. Al Mazeina said: “The sincere efforts and contributions of our partners had a great impact on the development and success of the White Points System in its second consecutive year. More than one thousand drivers have been honored for their exemplary driving conducts and we look forward to maintain the cooperation towards meeting our goals.”

“White Points interacting system cooperates with other control mechanisms in one basket which aim to reducing the number of road deaths up to the strategic goal (zero mortality in road accidents in 2020). The White Points system is the first of its kind in the region,” added Al Mazina.

This initiative was launched in 2012, and in its second year of successful run as a campaign to promote and encourage safe driving within the Emirate, the eligibility for participation in the White Points System is centered around two essential factors – motorists must have a valid driving license issued in Dubai and possess a roadworthy vehicle registered in the Emirate in addition to no traffic violations recorded in the applicable Gregorian year.
