India introduces new rules for incoming passengers

The Indian finance ministry has announced new rules making it mandatory for passengers flying into the country to declare Indian currency exceeding Rs10,000, up from the previous limit of Rs7,500, in a series of new customs rules due to be implemented from March 1, Muscat Daily has reported. Under the new regulations, passengers will also have to declare both their hand and check-in baggage when entering the country and give details of countries visited over the previous six days.
