Head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation, Ali Reza Jahangirian has said the country plans to renovate its fleet of passenger planes and upgrade its safety flight standards this year, Fars news has reported. “If we add about 20 passenger planes to our fleet each year, we will achieve our specified goal of having a fleet with 550 aircraft by 2025,” said Jahangirian. “The Civil Aviation Organisation will import new planes in a bid to revitalise its dilapidated airplanes,” he said. A total of 14 new aircraft have joined the Iranian aviation fleet over past two months, he added.
