Kuwait Airways is set to lay off around 1,000 of its employees, as part of plans to privatise the troubled airline, Kuwait Times has reported, citing an unnamed company source. The employees whose jobs will be slashed are staff from Kuwait Aviation Services Co (KASCO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuwait Airways that handles the airline’s ground handling services, the source said. “Some employees will be offered retirement promotions and other (Kuwaiti employees) will be moved to KASCO,” the source added.
