According to figures released by Oman’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA), the total passenger traffic through Muscat International Airport grew by 8% until April 2014 to 2,958,090 passengers from 2,737,437 passengers during the same period a year earlier, Oman Daily Observer has reported. The increase is attributed to the increase in the number of flights operated by existing airlines, such as Indigo, Air India Express, Spicejet and operating a new airline: Rotana Air. Cargo traffic fell by 1% to a total shipments of 39,993 tonnes, compared with 40,329 tonnes in the same period in 2013.
