Oman has said total passenger traffic through the Muscat International Airport grew 13% to 780,223 passengers during January 2014, compared with 689,463 during the same month a year earlier, Times of Oman has reported. The increase was attributed to a rise in the number of flights operated by the existing airlines, such as Oman Air, Ethiopian Airlines and a new airline, Rotana Air, coming into operation. Salalah Airport also saw an increase of 22% in the total number of arriving and departing passengers during the month, recording a figure of 68,181 passengers, compared with 56,105 passengers for the same period in 2013.
