The Middle East’s leading air cargo and aviation logistics service provider Rus Aviation, which falls under the umbrella of the Al Aroud Group, has received the ‘Cargo operator of the year’ (Cargo/Charter Airline) award at the 2013 Aviation Business Awards ceremony.

The 7th ABA event, organised by ITP, the publishing house, was held in Dubai and Rus Aviation was declared as the winner in the Cargo operations sector, in the Cargo/Charter airline category.

Expressing gratitude on this new feather in Rus Aviation’s cap, Mr. Bareh Al Aroud, General Manager, Rus Aviation, said, “Rus Aviation has always aimed to excel in each of its many services, with equal emphasis being laid on quality and efficiency as well as global humanitarian endeavours. We are thankful to ITP and ABA for recognising our efforts over the course of 2013, which has, indeed, been an extremely successful year for us. This award will certainly serve as a significant boost for Rus Aviation to continue in the right direction and aim, as ever, for the sky.”

The ‘Cargo operator of the year’ award is extended to companies which provide consistent, industry-leading service in the Middle East region over the period of a year and having analysed Rus Aviation on parameters such as exceptional performance, efficiency, value, expertise and corporate social responsibility, the ABA jury declared Rus Aviation as the deserving winner of the prestigious award.

Speaking on the occasion, Saleh Al Aroud, Chairman of Al Aroud Group, said, “With demand for air cargo and charter services reaching an all-time high, 2013 proved to be a real-world test for the industry and I am extremely delighted with Rus Aviation’s strong performance this year. This award comes as a pleasant encouragement of Rus Aviation’s logistical and operational expertise, which we have been pursuing ever since the company’s inception in 1999. I would like to thank ITP and the ABA jury for declaring Rus Aviation as the winner of this prestigious award.”
