Chili’s wins Middle East Best Restaurant Excellence Award

Chili’s, the popular casual dining chain, has won the Middle East Best Restaurant Excellence Award.

The Middle East Food Industry Excellence Awards felicitated its winners at the Burj al Arab Hotel on 29 January 2014, in a grand ceremony that was held in conjunction with the GCC Food Suppliers and Manufacturers Summit, in the presence of pioneers and leaders of the Middle East food industry. The awards in its first year, celebrates the achievements of various food industry manufacturers, suppliers, and retailers in the Middle East who are well established in the market and have stood the test of time with their unwavering commitment towards quality and demand-supply equilibrium.

Chili’s has been chosen as this year’s recipient of the Middle East Best Restaurant Excellence Award based on the criteria and judging procedures adopted by the institution in selecting and honoring organizations for demonstrating extraordinary vision, competitive leadership, and breakthrough excellence in their field.

The nominees were judged on a number of criteria including the quality and provenance of the ingredients used, the sourcing of ingredients, an understanding that the use of local produce adds character, interest and quality to a menu. Other criteria involved cooking that employs methods, timing, seasoning that bring out the best in the raw materials used, innovation, flair, efficiency, product knowledge, warmth of welcome and most important of all, value for money.

Mohammed Al Delail, COO of Saleh Bin Lahej Group- Hospitality Division received the Middle East Best Restaurant Excellence Award on behalf of Chili’s-UAE. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “We at Saleh Bin Lahej Group -Hospitality Division are thrilled that our efforts to drive forward the concept of casual dining at affordable rates in the emirates are being recognized. Some of the criteria for judging were the level of customer service and satisfaction, quality of food, the restaurant atmosphere, and the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. I am happy that Chili’s has won this award, which has such high standards.”

Speaking about the awards, Ali al Kamali, Managing Director, Middle East Excellence Awards Institute, said, “This year, as a part of our new direction towards addressing multiple sectors in the Middle East, we came up with the Middle East Food Industry Excellence Awards which is a sincere step of the institute towards recognizing and honoring the pioneers and path-breakers in the fast moving food industry for their outstanding contributions towards the regional growth and economy.”
