The Ritz-Carlton, Doha set the bar for health and fitness in the city with the introduction of Doha’s first ever Prenatal Yoga classes on April 25, 2014. Combining elements of the sea and desert to create an immensely relaxing experience, the Prenatal Yoga classes will run for 12 consecutive weeks, offering mums-to-be a sanctuary to unwind and rejuvenate their bodies, minds and spirit.

“We are proud to offer Prenatal Yoga for the first time in Doha to help future mums stay active with gentle, targeted exercises that can be practiced throughout their pregnancy term. Prenatal Yoga classes generally focus on strengthening and increasing the flexibility of the muscles used during childbirth, while also increasing stamina, which is extremely beneficial for future mums,” said Dr. Tina Pavlova, Director of Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.

“In addition to the cardiovascular exercise routine that will help them maintain their health throughout the term of their pregnancy, Prenatal Yoga will also help the natural balance that is often disturbed during a pregnancy,” added Dr. Tina.

The Prenatal Yoga class will be conducted by Hatha Yoga and Prenatal Yoga instructor, Nathalie Savy. Focusing on breath awareness to improve concentration, gentle poses to build strength and restorative poses to relieve stress and discomfort, mums-to-be are guided to enhance their connection with their baby through the various poses and breathing techniques.

A block of 24 classes is priced at QR 1,800. Held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays, the class begins at 7p.m. and accessories such as mats, props, water and towels will be provided.
