Oman welcomed 2.1m tourists in 2013

The Omani tourism ministry has said the country’s tourism sector saw a 10% year-on-year growth in 2013, Times of Oman has reported. “Some 2.1 million tourists visited the sultanate last year,” said the ministry’s undersecretary, Maitha Al Mahrouqi. The combined 2013 revenues of the 31 hotels in Oman stood at OR3.941m ($387.8m), up 11% over the OR134.5m ($349.3m) recorded in 2012.
