Qatar Tourism Authority hosts first annual Ramadan Ghabga event
On Thursday 17th July, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) organized a Ramadan Ghabga banquet for its employees and stakeholders –hoteliers in Qatar.
The event which was attended by His Excellency Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi, Chairman of QTA and QTA’s executive management was held at the prestigious Ramadan tent at La Cigale hotel. The event, now a regular feature of QTA’s calendar, aims to celebrate Ramadan traditions and strengthen relations and understanding of the true spirit of the Holy Month.
The evening was well organized with an interactive questions and answers session followed by raffle draw and generous prizes for those attending. Senior management officials warmly welcomed the attendees. The event gave the guests a valuable opportunity to network, socialize and meet QTA’s executives in the lavish surroundings of the luxury hotel, while enjoying Arabic dishes and Ramadan Qatari specialties.
Commenting on the occasion of the first annual QTA Ramadan Ghabga, His Excellency Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi, said: “We are delighted to have hosted our first Ramadan Ghabga for our industry stakeholders and employees, and look forward to this becoming a key annual event. This is an important occasion to bring together key individuals who are instrumental in furthering QTA as the planning and promotion entity of the tourism industry in Qatar. We look forward to celebrating with key partners at our Ramadan Ghabga each year.”
To encourage the hospitality industry to boost their Ramadan activities this year and enhance the quality of their services, QTA has also launched a program to award the hotels which provide the best quality experiences to their visitors. QTA will continue its assessment of the throughout the month, with the awards being announced immediately after Eid.
Earlier this month, QTA launched a yearly event program ‘Ramadan in Qatar’- QTA’s newly created brand aimed at generating a unified and consistent ambience for the holy month of Ramadan. The brand is used as a means to showcase the Qatari Islamic and Arabic culture and traditions which are highlighted in significance during this month, giving visitors to Qatar a true authentic experience.
