UAE Ambassador and the First Secretary in London visits Dubai Tourism stand at World Travel Market

On the first day of World Travel Market (WTM) which started in London yesterday (Monday 4 November), Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) witnessed an eventful day including visits from high ranking officials. Amongst them was HE Abdulrahman Ghanem Almutaiwee, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in London and Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum Al-Maktoum, First Secretary at the UAE Embassy in London. Both guests were received by Saleh Al Geziry, DTCM Director of Overseas Offices and Members of the DTCM delegation.

HE Abdulrahman Almutaiwee said: ”Visitors come to the UAE for the many attractions the country offers and the unique facilities and services, which are the best in the world. The United Arab Emirates boasts an impressive network of airlines such as Emirates, flydubai, Etihad Airways, Arabian Airlines and RAK Airlines, all of which play important role in bringing tourists and visitors to UAE.

“The number of hotels and rooms is the highest in the region. Through the future plans of the Federal Government, tourism has become one of the fast growing sectors in the country.” Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum said: “The forthcoming visit by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa to the UK reflects the special friendship between the royal families in the UK and the UAE. The ties between the UAE and the UK are strong and stable, with many years of partnership and shared interests.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum thanked all the participants from the UAE at WTM. He concluded that with only three weeks left until the EXPO 2020 winning city will be announced, he sincerely hoped that Dubai would be chosen to host the mega event and was proud that the UK announced it had voted for Dubai as a city to host Expo2020.
